Yeah. There really isnt any point imho. Such a waste of time to specifically try to do something for GW2. Just work on titles you like.

What will they do? Probably nothing. You've bought the game, and that's it. It's not an MMO that you're constantly paying for, you've already been given all of the content. If you're bored, then that's natural. That's how most games are, Guild Wars is no different.

You guys are actually all wrong.

In fact, what ANet plans to do is soon they will announce a release date and then change it quite a few times (~50) to make sure the quota for BAWWWWWWW threads on GWG is met.

Plus it will keep your on your toes and you'll always come back for more.
It's failproof.

Well if you've done everything in PvE there's only one thing really left to do and it's PvP.

I got bored of GW PvE well before i'd got any of pve titles, and PvP really picked up my interest in the game, in my opinion, if you haven't done any PvP you're missing out on the best part of the game.

The problem is that you're thinking of GW as a typical MMO that you can "stop paying for" and "quit". It's not. Would you "quit" Super Mario 64?

I beat Super Mario 64. It was fun, but then I did everything there was to do, and played another game instead, but occasionally I'll go back to Mario because it's fun to replay through it on the occasion.

I hope you're getting this analogy.

And in my opinion, if don't have tiger emote already, good luck getting into any team.

Oh, wait a second, MY BAD! That's not an opinion.

Nothing, thats as simple as it comes. Well have events and weekends, mabey new items here and there, changes as well, like the new pvp/pve system. Thats about it. Then again who knows what they have laying around, just look at the Deldrimor items, been laying around for a year and finaly added in. So there could be things hidden that there just waiting for the right time. But then again i seam to be wrong sometimes. As for the HOM, no one really knows what it will do got GW2, we know that it won't give anyone an advantage in GW2, but from what i herd(can't remember where)when you walk out of the hall you will look badass.

It'll go completely overlooked because the essence of MMOs has a vice grip on a lot of people. Thats why they say they will "quit" specifically instead of "stop playing for a little while". As soon as some people pick up again, they just fall back into their MMO-junkie habits. Hell, I've found some RPGs to be the most droning activity I've ever participated in, but I still couldn't put it down because it just had that oh-so-warm, reassuring GOTTA-GET-EXP-AND-LEVEL-LOL hold on me.

Not if you're a monk or run H/H which is also quite easy.

HA groups still don't take monks without rank just because they are monks, and you can't take H/H into HA either. While I understand the point you're trying to make, it's still infinitely easier to up your Norn rank from scratch that it is to do the same with your Fame.

alright dude, if you finished every title, and all the games content, you've gotten your moneys worth by far. It's not Anets job to constantly entertain those who play way to much. Get over it.

O, and try some Pvp? Something tells me you don't have max Champion title.

What is Anet planning to do?
Make us grind till GW2 comes out. That wasn't too difficult to answer.

Real Response: They, most likely, expect us to "slightly abandon" GW1 when GW2 comes out and we get our happy little gifts for filling that Hall of Monuments.

In some way... some of the quests in GW2 will mention or bring out a reminiscence of what GW1 was... so that if you're heavy into story or the actual plot of a game, you can find out or remember... but then again, just using the wiki could easily explain.

Then again... do you think they even know?

Grinding for these titles does not advance your character.

Proof? It has been said that the Hall of Monuments will unlock things in GW2. It hasn't been said exactly what it will unlock. And, with the title linked skills, the days of skill > time spent are long gone. Guild Wars is now, and probably forevermore about the grind. I have no faith that GW2 will bring the series back to its roots.

With all honesty I think anet plans to ignore, frustrate and nerf players until they either A, stop playing gw until gw2, or B, stop playing gw completely and not even buy gw2. Their support practices and updates do not help keep fans happy. GW2 may be filled with the same problems which makes it pointless to buy.

I for one am looking at ncsoft/anet as I do with Wotc, GW2 with 4e. They don't wanna fix the current product so they scrap it to make a new one. What happens when that product fails? The consumers end up spending even more money on a game with a very short lifespan.

Diablo2 LOD has had almost a decade of a lifespan and is still played by thousands, maybe millions off and on. GW1's lifespan is hard pressed to measure up.

D2LOD and GW1 share a concept of grinding, GW is titles and D2 is items. Both require a lot of time to get all the titles or items you want. But d2 items have a use, most titles are useless, only to be looked at.

It all breaks down to what you enjoy, Grinding a title for a few months can bring you joy when you finally achieve max title and get to stand in town spreading your uberness (as i hear and often see) and in d2 you find joy when that high rune finally drops or you get a spiders or Coa from a boss drop.

I don't think gw is going to improve much, we can only look forward to minor updates for balance purposes.

One thing we are looking forward to is gw2 beta test, I just hope there is enough room for all the people who want to be included in beta.

My point was that elitism exists on both sides, and you don't need fame to be successful in PvP (nor Norn Rank to be good in PvE). You just have to find an accepting and nice guild who are willing to take you through the ropes.

But it has been stated that what you will unlock will not give you an advantage in GW2.

I'd be happy if ANet just told us what the big unused area in the N/E of the prophecies map is. Would be fun to have some form of elite area on that funky island.

They're not planning anything big. Just go to Add/Remove Programs>Uninstall Guild Wars. Do something else with your time.

they don't really care if "veterans" leave, they care if newbies come Newbies are their income of money, so they would go in negative numbers in game updates, since newbies who will buy new GW account won't care about it, only ppl that already spent cash on it.

Since there will be no more expansions/campaigns, i think it's pretty much it for "veterans"
